PROPUESTA DE INGENIERÍA BÁSICA PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE LOS LODOS GENERADOS EN LA PLANTA DE TRATAMIENTO DE AGUAS RESIDUALES DE LA CENTRAL TERMOELÉCTRICA VALLE DE MÉXICO

Abstract

Currently, the Mexican Official Standard NOM-004-SEMARNAT-2002 establishes the obligation to perform conditioning at the sludge and biosolids generated in the wastewater treatment prior to disposal to meet the guidelines established by that standard. Because since its original design, the plant wastewater treatment power plant belonging to the power station Valle de México, lacks a system for treating sludge, as when it was built it did not consider the environmental requirement in the current regulations in that time, in addition, the absence of a project that will provide the technical basis for the construction of this infrastructure in the sewage plant, was considered as a basic proposal that included in this thesis, establishing the basic technical specifications for construction equipment for the treatment of waste. Was considered a treatment option for aerobic digestion because it meets the technical and legal requirements contained in the effluent standard, operation is easier and above all is a considerable price difference compared to a process for sludge treatment by anaerobic digestion method. After analysis, we conclude that the most favorable process for the treatment of sludge is composed of thickening, digestion and dewatering. Based on the effluent characteristics and requirements of the standard is raised by this proposal, which casts us as a result the necessary equipment to carry out the fitting and sizing them to carry out treatment, making the final compliance with the regulations and generating a stabilized waste without aggressive characteristics to the environment, so that it can be deposited in a municipal landfill. It should be noted that the current site of the treatment plant has enough space to install additional equipment and not disrupt the production of treated water demand the generation of electricity at the power station.
