Descripción : Research is one of the strongholds of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (IPN). Since 2003 the IPN made the call for educational research projects in order to strengthen this type of research in the same institute. On the other hand, the IPN is one of the strengths of physical education and science in general. These two aspects, educational research and teaching of physics, given the profile of the IPN should be of vital importance in the development of the institute and form line-oriented educational research study physics. This paper shows the results of investigating the current state of the art educational research in the IPN and presents conclusions and recommendations on it.
