EL SISTEMA DE CIUDADES MEDIAS Y LOS CENTROS DE COMERCIO EN CHILPANCINGO, GUERRERO (2000 - 2009).

Abstract

Our country urbanization process show complex features difficult to define, but in general Mexico can be considered an urban country. Recently, this phenomenon was presented in the medium-sized cities with greater intensity, such as the cities of Guerrero State: Acapulco, Chilpancingo, Iguala, Chilapa, Zihuatanejo and Taxco; cities with highest concentration of population and economic activities which represent the territorial state and municipal unit. We studied the territorial impacts of medium-sized system cities in Guerrero state on two scales: regional and urban. At the regional scale, analysis was realized on the theory of central place, this was for the purpose of observing the impacts of regional level in two aspects of the system-cities. About the urban scale, we realized a diagnostic of the Chilpancingo city. Was determined the impact suffered by the urban and image city structure, caused for the settlement of trade centers. The results have been encouraging and consistent with empirical observations of the study area, in addition to that urban planning applied to the Guerrero state and the economic globalization process, are undoubtedly a crucial element in the territorial impacts experienced by cities causing functional specialization and urban hierarchy. Additionally, it was also observed an approach to the regularity of central place theory, in which there are six central and tributary areas (in this case there are only 5 tributary areas): Acapulco is regional central area and the other cities as their tributary areas. In the urban scale was observed the impacts on the urban and image structure. These two aspects analyzed with the clear influence of the context of economic globalization allow an exchange and commercial distribution from global cities to outlying cities, expanding markets into ever smaller cities, making clear the direct impact that this phenomenon has on cities medium-size and regional impacts generated in the two scales above mentioned.
